About Me

Holly RoseMy name is Holly and I am a former Disk Jockey or On Air Personality with over 20 years of live on air experience. When my job was eliminated, I was able to take the skills I had learned from editing commercials, and cut quality music for our local Figure Skating Club. I enjoy taking a single song and editing it so that the listener can’t tell where the cut is, or blending a mix of several songs in a way that flows.

I got into cutting music when my daughters, now age 14 and 11, decided that they wanted to compete in figure skating events. I took the music they chose and arranged it and cut it to the time frame required by the rules for that event. At the first competition we attended, I heard poorly mixed songs that started at the beginning of the song and ended abruptly at the time allocated, songs that started or ended in the middle of a word, and songs that had cuts that were choppy and had gaps where music should have been. It was painful for me to hear and, I imagine, painful for the person performing to the cut. I decided then that I would take my love of editing music and create a business for performers that require music for their art.

My biggest cut was over 10 different songs mixed into one opening number. My favorite larger cut was a Doctor Who mix, complete with sound effects. I presented it to one of my daughter’s friends who had decided not to compete that year. After she heard the mix, she put together a trio of figure skaters and took this number to The Badger State games for an entertainment performance. She told me that I inspired this number, and that was one of the biggest compliments that I’ve received.

I love when the customer hears their music for the first time and is excited to perform with it. That’s my job satisfaction.
